Problem Solving Competition

Destination ImagiNation is a non-profit organization designed to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem solving in students. Participants work in teams to solve challenges and present their solutions at tournaments.  Destination Imagination is offered to students around the word (Kindergarten-College).  If you want to create a team, Mrs. Hawkins is willing to sponsor you.  But, you will have to plan your own meetings, fund your own projects, and supply your own transportation.  The regional team fees have been paid. Challenge previews can be found here.

C-SPAN's StudentCam is an annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary on a topic related to the competition theme below.
“The Constitution and You: Select any provision of the U.S. Constitution and create a video illustrating why it’s important to you.”

Students in middle and high schools are encouraged to prepare a three to seven minute video (VHS or DVD) on positive aspects of the various forms of energy, including nuclear energy.
